The Dixie Run is going to be here before we know it. Since the car show season is up and going again, get some flyers from Eric to take to the car events you attend. We stuffed around 200 envelopes at the last meeting to be mailed out.

We'll rev up motors, toss 'em candy and keep several dentist in the area employed.

Eddie Yeates has a new ‘46 Chevy pickup street rod. Paul Acey’s son, Stan, has a ‘34 Chevy sedan delivery in pieces. Vic is back working on his pickup, adding a '59 Chevy rear sheet metal to the bed. You can see this one if you come with us on the shop tour this year, see below for more on that. Kim Howell just had an emergency appendectomy last weekend. Rowdy Yeates has bought a Junior dragster for his little boy to race. First time out last weekend at local dragstrip to practice, he turned 49 miles per hour with the throttle adjusted way back. Rowdy was beaming as he showed me a picture of the little racer. It's a modified 5 horse Briggs and Stratton running on alcohol. This weekend they're opening the throttle spring all the way as they travel to the Hattiesburg drag strip for their first competition.

Several of us got together one Sunday and went and ate at Big D’s Tepee BBQ. Even though it was a wet day, it was still a nice cruise. My ’40 Chevy was glad to get out and cruise. I had not driven it in over 20 days.

Yes we are doing it again. Meet us for lunch at Wendy's in Byram at 11am on Feb. 18th or meet us in the nearby shopping center parking lot at 12pm. We will start the tour from there directly after Noon and go to Larry Cantrell’s shop, then to the shop in Pearl near Eric’s where several have projects, then to Rounman’s where Danny’s Coupe project is being worked on again, then we’ll see Vic’s “Shades of Dream” ’48 Chevy Pickup project, then on to Jim Saville’s where he has one of everything Chevrolet made in 1938 and he is working on the conv. We will end up at the Cruise-in at the Sonic at Florence that afternoon around 4pm. That's a full day of doing what we like to do!

A bunch of car folks (over 60 of them) got together at the Western Sizzlin’ in Jackson for the planning meeting. Our own club member, Jimmy Creel won the Street Rodder of the Year award. Congrats Jimmy! It’s supposed to be a planning meeting, but it should be renamed: “Tell Us About Your Car Show That’s On Someone Else’s Date meeting”.
